my corner of the internet

I’m glad you want to know me better :)
Don’t worry, I’ll keep it short. Only the important stuff ✨
Who is Freya?
My name is Freya Vora, I also go by “the most enthusiastic and curious in the room” (aka "design nerd")🤓
My interest in Human-Computer Interaction comes from my interest in people. Through my studies into people and their experiences with visual concepts, I realized people's perceptions change how they experience the world.
My past work has shown me how technology and user experience can motivate even the most human experiences: maintaining relationships to expressing our every triumph and tribulation and connecting on a human level.
What captivates me most about people is the cyclical relationship we have with designing these technologies:
we shape them, and they shape us.
Outside of work I'll be:
learning to make the perfect cup of coffee
re-watching my comfort movies
exploring cafes
spending time with friends and family
making ART
Working with Me
What to expect if you’re working with me.
I do whatever it takes to get something done.
Ok that sounds like a threat, but I really mean that I’m resourceful and dependable. The things I don’t already know, I learn quick.
I believe in calling a spade a spade.
I don't like beating around the bush and wasting the time of everyone involved
Everything I know, I can explain to a 5yr old.
I understand things down to their fundamentals. It helps me switch from big picture thinking to focusing on the details.
Clear communication is something I deeply believe in.
I’ve seen too many meetings and products turn into dumpster fires... simply because people weren’t on the same page.
I take my work seriously, but not myself.
I never shy away from being vulnerable, admitting mistakes and asking questions. I don't believe in pretending to be perfect. Nobody is.
I can speak the language of the stakeholder I'm talking to.
In certain situations I’d probably rewrite my previous bullet point to - “I’m a first principles thinker”.
